MOHAIR BLANKETS
These blankets are hand-loomed and dyed in a small Finnish community on the same looms that have now been in use for three generations, embracing the authenticity of old-world, artisan production. A local herd of Angora goats is sheared twice a year to provide fleece for the blankets, in the same manner as they were 200 years ago. While connecting this community to the heritage of the land, the cultivation of mohair connects the consumer to a culture of production that is refreshingly genuine. The sustainability and organic nature of the process is, like the blankets themselves, simultaneously nostalgic and modern.
